OBJECTIVES
International Expert to Expert: Epilepsy has been designed primarily for paediatric neurologists. This meeting provides an excellent opportunity to listen to international and UK expert lectures and then discuss topics and approaches with your peers in small workshops. This course is for all paediatric neurologists, both those for whom epilepsy is not necessarily their area of sub-speciality expertise and for epilepsy specialists. It is an opportunity to network with your fabulous colleagues and learn from each other’s experiences and knowledge and be educated by international experts in their field of expertise.
The format will again be that of lectures and workshops. A neurosciences session from Prof Ibrahim will enlighten us to connectomics and whether we can provide more patient specific neuromodulation options to children with pharmaco-resistant epilepsies. Prof Gaillard will update us on advances in neuroimaging for epilepsy.
We have a genetics session given the wave in translational research from genetic diagnosis to therapy. Dr Specchio and Dr Lignani will be sharing their wealth of experience in this field. We are delighted that Prof Zuberi can talk to us following the recent ILAE classification and definition of epilepsy syndromes. Workshops will be relevant to clinical tertiary epilepsy practice addressing the advances but also challenges we all experience.
The organising committee are really excited to be up and running again and we look forward to seeing you in Bristol!
